Coffee No Waves and Friends
I like coffee it is really good. I am drinking coffee right now actually. To be honest though I just ran out of coffee and I will probably stop mid way through this post to get more or go eat or maybe surf. Probably not surf though because the conditions are not the best despite there being some size finally.
So sometime since the last post a group of friends from back home came last minute and spent a week here in Nicaragua. It was a sick they hit me up a couple days before and told me they were coming. Definitely a good time and a good change seeing people you are familiar with and know from the start. Down here where I live in Iguana is strictly a tourist vacation rental spot. You make friends with the people staying here then see them go and another new group comes in. So when you already know someone that is coming down it is a good change.
I was stoked to be able to catch some waves with the boys and I have to thank my good friend Bobby for leaving a board with me until I get back. I was in desperate need of a standard short board as my 5'8 stretch had gotten buckled and is pretty much out of commission.
Its been fun riding a standard short board for once. I enjoy surfing different boards because it allows you to surf the wave differently. Standard thrusters definitely are a lot less flowing but they are still just as good as any other board as long as you adjust your style for that type of board. I have learned over the last couple months of surfing good-great waves that any board works. Does not matter(besides the weight factor) if it has been buckled or snapped in half and repaired. Or if it is an unconventional shape. I have ridden many different boards down here and I can not say that any board I have ridden doesn't work or isn't fun. Styles change and boards change. When I get back home I will probably not ride a standard thruster, its not my preferred choice but saying that... I am stoked on have one right now and have been having a blast riding it.
The boys all headed out stoked on there last day of fun beach day surf. It wasn't worth filming the last day or even most of the trip but they still enjoyed there time in Nica and had a great week. Check out the website MetalNeck.tv for the crews travels and updates on what they are up to. Matt Tromberg puts alot of work into his videos and they are sick so support the boys.
This next week the 3rd Josh and Tyler are coming down and staying in Gigante at the hostel Simon and I always cruise to(along with most of Iguana when we need to do something). They are going to be stoked to get some warm water barrels. It is suppose to get pretty big when there here so hope they are bringing some step ups!!
Oh and I still have not gotten more coffee. End of this Post but another one once Im done eating or surfing or something by the end of the day about me and Simon's adventures of this last week.
